My sister made the news...unfortunately not for the best reason. Her Christmas present was stolen!
An unhappy re-tirement
CONIFER — Call it theft, call it vandalism, call it a really nasty Christmas surprise. On the morning of Dec. 26, a woman parked her car at a Conifer Road RTD lot facing the Loaf ‘n’ Jug, spent the next 12 hours toiling in Gotham, and returned about 6:30 p.m. to retrieve her vehicle. How dispiriting it must have been when, as she backed out of her parking spot, the front driver-side wheel fell off. Summoning a sheriff’s deputy, she explained that the disarticulated wheel in question — a B.F. Goodrich Touring 205-70-15 on a Honda Factory Wheel — didn’t match its three companions — Michelin 205-65-R15s wrapped around Ford factory mag rims, which had come as a full set of four when she bought them less than a month earlier. Investigating, the officer concluded that the changeling wheel fell off because there were no lug nuts holding it onto the car, and there were no lug nuts holding it onto the car because a Honda factory wheel doesn’t fit the bolt pattern on a 1998 Ford Taurus. The woman could think of no likely suspects, no prints were found at the scene, and Loaf ‘n’ Jug’s surveillance cameras could supply no answers. For what it’s worth, she got to keep the bogus tire.

I didn't have time to respond earlier when you sent me this story. That's too crazy!!! Poor Amanda. So someone stole her tire, huh? Who would do such a thing?
Yes, someone stole my tire! I spent the next day spending $155 on a new wheel, tire, and locking lug nuts. I recommend locking lug nuts to anyone and everyone. It really sucks but it could've been so much worse...they didn't break into my car. Who steals a tire...honestly?!?!
Crazy!!! Sorry Amanda! That really stinks. I know what's its like to come back to something missing in your car. Someone once smashed my car window around Christmas time and stole about $2,000 worth of stuff. I was a dork and left a TON of stuff in my car at a park and ride for a couple hours. Lost an entire suitcase of clothes, cd player, cd's, sleeping bag, tennis racket, etc... sucked big time. Maybe I'll look into getting locking lug nuts, it sounds smart!! Glad you're okay!

Looks like someone had a flat with out a spare, how nice of Amanda to "donate" hers!
