At Starbucks this morning:
Me - "I would like a tall caramel frappuccino please".
Barista - "Did you know we've re-done our frappuccinos?? You can customize them anyway you want!!! Our official kick off date is next Tuesday but we have them in early!!! You can get caffienated or no caffeine, you can get sugar free syrups, you can add extra caramel or get less!!! You can get them with skim, 1% or 2% milk!!! The taste should be the same, or maybe creamier, and the color is different!!! We're really excited about this!!!"
Me - [in my head] "I'm tired, just need my dang coffee, and what a shocker that Starbucks offers 13,000 combinations of ways to order a drink", but outloud "Oh that sounds great! Thanks!"

HA! One of my co-workers actually hates going to Starbucks because she feels that the people are TOO nice/perky/sweet. She says they're not real and will never do the Starbucks run for the office. Your story totally confirms her suspicions :)
she didn't happen to mention that whole milk is the standard though, did she?
