The Great Tour of CO

Adam and Amy arrived Friday night after a long drive from Minneapolis through Iowa, Nebraska and finally arriving in Denver. We started our evening at a local pizza place which was delicious and then headed to a new wine bar that just opened. It was so cute and cozy!

Saturday morning Adam wanted to go to the great town of Boulder after hearing so much about it. We first stopped to drive to the top of Lookout Mountain to check out the scenery and snapped some photos outside of Buffalo's Bill's museum. Then it was off to Boulder! We walked up and down Pearl Street Mall and checked out the street performers and musicians (not to mention the hippies). We also felt like it was necessary to go on a real Colorado hike, so we found some maps and began our quest to the top of the Flatirons to the Royal Arch. However, we soon found out that this was no easy hike! Huffing and puffing we climbed our way to the top and covered over 1,000 of vertical feet in just over a mile. But the sight that waited for us made it well worth it! We could see the CU stadium fill up with fans for the game, the campus, downtown Denver, and a so many other things.
We quickly showered and changed so we could meet our friends in Cherry Creek for a quick dinner a local restaurant that has fantastic burgers! And what trip to Denver wouldn't be complete without a margarita at the famous Rio! Shiloh, Sonya, Joseph, with several other friends met up with us that night for dinner, dancing, and margs.Sunday morning I took Amy and Adam to my church. They both really enjoyed it and got a feel for my "life" here in Denver. We met up with my sister and her boyfriend at church and followed them up to my parents house for lunch and some hiking. Amy, Adam, and I quickly learned how sore we were from Saturday's hike in Boulder and found that the easy hike by my parent's house was a little more challenging than it should have been!
We finished up the weekend by meeting up with a childhood friend of Adam's who happens to live two miles away from me. The five us went to dinner at a cute Mom and Pop Italian restaurant. It was fun to meet some of Adam's friends and make some more connections.

Phew...that's our weekend in a nutshell!!!
